Nepal Pashmina Industries Association wants to register their pashmina brand logo in Norway,Australia and Japan. Pashmina refers to a type of fine cashmere wool and and the textiles made from it. Shankar Prasad Pandey, president of the NPIA said "We have already received the confirmation from Norway about the approval of the logo. Similarly, we are expecting the approval from Australia and Japan," said Shankar Prasad Pandey, president of the NPIA. He also added "This year, demand for genuine pashmina products has gone up compared with last year. Last year, only the quantity was large but the value was less". Therefore this is a great time to try to extend their bussinesses and register the trademark in many other countries, especially now when the government also approved a big budget for NPIA to register the trademark in foreign countries. |
